Biography
I grew up in Dallas, Texas where I also started climbing. My mother got me into climbing when I was 13. I have now been climbing for 22 years. I started doing Professional competitions when I was 16 and won my first USA Nationals I ever entered. Fast-forward to today and I am now an 11 times Bouldering National Champion. I have won a lot of professional bouldering competitions all around the US and Europe. The first half of my climbing career was focused on pushing my limits in competitions on the world stages. I traveled all around the world competing alongside the best competition athletes out there in world cups.
During my time being a top competition athlete I won 2 Bouldering World Cups and podiumed more times than I can remember. I have ranked in the top 3 overall in the Bouldering World Cup Circuit 2 times. I have also won many international competitions all over the world. This was an unforgettable time in my life that has helped shape me into the climber and person I am today. I made so many amazing friends from all over the world and I would say this is one of the best rewards that doing all the competitions has given me. This is also how I met my husband.
Since 2019 I have turned my focus to climbing outside and pushing my limits on boulder problems across the world.
The shift from being a competition climber to an outdoor climber was interesting at first, specifically from a mental perspective. Even though I had great successes on rock when I was competing, something different happened mentally when I stopped competitions. I missed it and the life I lived, but my mind was a bit more at ease and I felt less anxiety. Competitions were exciting and filled with a lot of ups and downs, and I think what made me stop competing was not that I wasn’t “strong enough” any more, but more that my mind was tired and ready for a change. Climbing outside and traveling the world to some of the most amazing and breathtaking places to climb outside is where my passion lies now.
I have climbed numerous V14/ 8B+ boulders and countless V13’s and I still have that competitiveness in me that makes me want to continue pushing limits. So yes, I want to climb V15 and V16. I want to see more places and most importantly, I want to make more connections and friendships from people in different places and from different cultures. I also want to keep becoming a better version of myself and to continue to grow. Change is inevitable and I believe it is important to grow with that change.
I feel very lucky every day for the life I get to live. I also feel very lucky that I get to work with such an amazing company. Scarpa doesn't only have incredible shoes and products, but the people that work for the company are just as incredible. It’s more than a company, it’s a family and I’m lucky to be a partof it! This is the message that I hope to continue spreading to so many young women, and men, out there today. That being proud of your individual, unique, beautiful and capable body is something to celebrate! My unique body has gone through so many amazing changes through my life and I’m currently going through probably one of the hardest and biggest. I’m PREGNANT!
It is amazing seeing all the bad ass woman out there that have gone through pregnancy and childbirth and then retuned to kicking butt in their sports! I’m loving documenting my own journey through this crazy and amazing time in hopes to help and support others through their journeys. We all just want to feel connected and not alone. We need to inspire either other and uplift one another. These are some of the things that I hope to represent as I share my life and experiences for others to witness. 😊
