Biography

My name is Amity. I am a sports dietitian and chronically over-stoked rock climber, perpetually pursuing the next adventure. I find climbing compelling because it provides the opportunity for me to push my limits, physically and mentally, while exploring incredible landscapes and connecting with others in the climbing community. I live in a van and spend much of the year traveling to various climbing destinations, seeking out adventures big and small. My climbing superpower is trying REALLY hard - I don’t like to give up! I love digging deep to accomplish a goal and enjoy empowering others to do the same. I enjoy a variety of climbing disciplines but feel most drawn to hard trad and multipitch climbing because they require a combination of every skill in my repertoire to pull off a successful ascent. I am eager to continue exploring my potential in the sport and passionate about helping others use nutrition to maximize both performance and long-term health. The SCARPA Athlete Mentorship Initiative presented by Mountain Hardwear has been created to connect and engage the SCARPA and Mountain Hardwear Athlete teams with accomplished athletes from historically marginalized communities aspiring to take their sport or career to the next level. The mission of this program is to connect mentors with mentees focused on the sports we serve to provide participants with opportunities for personal, athletic and career development with the goal of helping to create a more inclusive and diverse community of athletes.
