Biography

blue underline

As a Midwestern kid, I had dreams of mountains. From an early passion for snowboarding and trips out west, the seed was planted. For much of my life, the focus has been on team sports and competition, but after college that shifted. I turned my athletic ambitions to goals in the mountains and experiences with friends. From skiing big peaks to climbing classic routes near home and afar, the community I have built through these sports and these places has been incredible. In the end, I’ve found that these shared experiences are what make our society stronger. Climbing ice or rock, or peak bagging on skis or foot, I enjoy climbing in all forms, but I find myself most excited by moving efficiently on long rock routes. In between climbing sessions I can be found at my local high school; divided between performing crazy experiments in my classroom or helping kids find success in track and field.
