Biography

blue underline

I am a child of colonization (Anglo-Indian), who immigrated to New Zealand from India when I was 5, and eventually making my way to Canada when I was 26. I am 41 years old, a lover of skiing, a wife, and a fur mum to a special needs cat, Puma. I live, work and play on the occupied and stolen lands of the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations, in beautiful British Columbia.

Learning to ski as an adult has its own challenges (let alone being the token brown kid on skis), but somehow I learned how to balance fear with excitement, and now crave to ski steep lines and chutes. Magic happens when I am moving in the mountains with grace and confidence, when it is buttery snow in a steep chute, glades, or open terrain. The icing on the cake is when I am skiing with my husband, and with people that look like me, who all make my heart soar.

I strive to decolonize the ski industry and will continue to create opportunities for people of color to recreate safely in the mountains, whilst being their most authentic selves. When I am not skiing, you will find me trail and alpine running, puffing madly - trying to keep up to my husband - but with a massive grin!
