The Outdoor Retailer Summer Show is where the industry usually gets their first look at the brand new SCARPA shoes set to launch the following year. Like most events in our current world, this year’s Outdoor Retailer was held virtually, which means a lot of you were not able to sneak a peek at our exciting new products. So here’s your chance! Check out what new SCARPA models were imagined and reengineered for Spring 2021, we’re excited to get these new shoes on your feet!

In the climbing category, SCARPA will be introducing an updated Boostic climbing shoe, the most supportive shoe in our Specialize Performance category. The NEW Boostic is designed for technical face climbing where underfoot support for continuous micro edging is crucial. This new model features a more precise fit, a unique curved midsole for maximum support, and a PAF heel system that provides comfort on long technical routes.

Our approach line will get a facelift when the Gecko, currently our most technical approach shoe, gets updated for Spring 2021. The Gecko’s upper is water-resistant suede leather, built to withstand the abuse of rocky terrain, but still molds to your foot for a glove-like fit. It features a hybrid construction: board lasted in the rear for stability, and slip-lasted in the forefoot for sensitivity. The new outsole on the Gecko features our exclusive SuperGum rubber for confidence inspiring friction and traction, and is highly durable to extend the shoes life.

One of our most highly anticipated releases for Spring 2021 is rumored to be the best all-around mountain shoe we’ve ever made. The Rapid is a run-approach, hybrid shoe made to be equally adept at ticking off trail miles, boulder hopping and scrambling moderate slabs. The dual-density EVA midsole delivers a ride more akin to a trail running shoe, but we have added a TPU arch insert for torsion control, and our Dynamic Protection System insert in the forefoot for increased protection, propulsion and edging capability. The Vibram® outsole features high-friction Megagrip rubber, and an edging zone under the big toe for unbeatable friction and traction. The Rapid is the perfect choice for moving fast over mixed mountain terrain, adept at handling all conditions from groomed single track to endless talus fields to slabby scrambles.

The newest addition to the award-winning Spin family, the Spin Infinity, will be our most cushioned offering to date. Designed for long distance trail training, the Spin Infinity has a dual-density midsole, featuring a low density base that provides cushioning and impact absorption, and a firmer EVA layer providing lightweight stability and torsion control. The midsole’s 4mm drop encourages an efficient stride, further enhancing its long distance capabilities. Secure ground contact is assured by the Vibram outsole, combining 4mm lugs and Megagrip rubber to optimize traction and grip. The mesh upper with Sock-Fit construction is light and breathable but still provides foot-wrapping support and a secure fit. This combination of upper and outsole package results in the perfect blend of weight savings, cushioning, support and traction. All of these elements come together seamlessly in this high-mileage trail machine.

Highly durable and technically precise, the brand new, lightweight Ribelle Run is the ideal choice for short to medium distance training and racing in rugged, rocky terrain. The upper is mesh and welded PU that is reinforced with ripstop for extra abrasion resistance. A climbing inspired, full-perimeter TPU rand provides more structure and a high level of protection. The fit is more precise due to a medium width last that is slightly lower volume, allowing secure navigation on technical trails. This fit is further enhanced by our Sock-Fit Slip On construction, where the ankle collar is integrated with the tongue in a stretch fabric, reducing bulk and sealing out trail debris. Finishing off the upper is our quick cinch lacing system for a fast and secure closure. Underfoot, our SuperGum rubber compound provides outstanding traction and friction, and is more durable than comparable rubber.

For those of you seeking out stylish SCARPA shoes, to wear in between adventure time, can look forward to a few new and exciting styles in our Urban Outdoor category. Building off the global success of the original Mojito, we have re-examined every element in the manufacturing process to create the Mojito Bio - the first fully biodegradable product we have ever offered. Now you can represent the same great iconic outdoor style of the Mojito, while treading much lighter on the planet. A plant based upper and midsole paired with a biodegradable natural rubber outsole means the Mojito Bio will break down fully at end of life, with minimal lifecycle impact.

Finally, the last new shoe that we will introduce for Spring 2021 is the Spirit. A stylish and casual shoe which will be at home on the streets and cobblestones of our favorite towns and metro areas around the world. The upper is an eco cotton canvas stretch textile, with 70% recycled cotton content and 30% organic cotton. A lace-to-toe closure system is super adaptable, whether you want to cinch it down for a quick bouldering session or back it off for more casual use at the brewpub, and accommodates a variety of foot shapes. The upper is finished off with a recycled rubber toe rand for a little extra protection. The Spirit features a slip-lasted construction for ultimate in flexibility and sensitivity. The dual-density, eco-friendly midsole provides a well-cushioned ride and plenty of support for long days on your feet. The outsole features our exclusive SuperGum Eco rubber for extra friction and traction, and is highly durable to stand up to street or slab.

We are disappointed that we weren’t able to show off all of these exciting new products in person to you at this year’s Outdoor Retailer. But, even though trade shows may now be virtual, outdoor activities are not.
