    kenesis is Kilash

    Summer of 2025 I bought a pair of Kenesis hiking boots from Scarpa. Spoke to their Colorado support staff to help size the boots. I've put about 50 miles on the Kenesis and very pleased with the comfort and support and a surprisingly short break in period.

    Last week I noticed that the Scarpa website was having a sale so I purchased the Kikash plus GTX mens boot. A bit lighter construction, similar vibram sole to the Kenesis but overall a very good weekend boot. Kenesis I'd feel comfortable hiking Mount Cook or the Remarkables, but I must say, the Kilash fits the bill for shorter backpacking trips

    The Best

    I'm 65 and been trekking since I'm 18.

    I switched to Scarpa a few years back

    And was very satisfied.

    Last month I upgraded to the Kailish Plus.

    Simply the best boot I've worn.

    Certainly the most comfortable.

    Lots of support with our too much weight.

    Best Arborist Boot Ever

    Ive worn and blown through all the boots under the sun. This boot is comfortable, light, supportive, waterproof and durable. Fits well in my spurs, is an amazing climber and is just plain comfy all day. Other boots I couldn't wait to get out of, but these I don't even know they are on my feet. NEVER STOP MAKING THE WIDE!!!

    all good except the footbed

    I've only used these a couple of times, but I can already see that the footbed will wear out quickly. I've seen higher quality footbeds used in cheap shoes from Walmart. Really, Scarpa, you can and should do better.

    Great quality made boot.

    My only complaint is that lack of color selection these days. There used to be options with different colors like grey with blue. I have had mine fore 5 years and would like to replace them with Scarpa, but I don’t like the style of sole they are going to. This is about the only traditional styled hiking boot in their lineup and it is only made in this color. I hope they come out with other colors before these completely wear out. I do love the boot obviously. I have worn them every day to work on top of hiking and they are still waterproof and in good overall shape. I would hate to replace them with any other brand. I like so much I will continue to wait on Scarpa to make a boot just like this one.
