Vapor V are a comfortable aggressive shoe

The Vapor V is comfortable, but aggressive climbing shoe. The downturned toe, stiffness and rubber excels on small foot holds.

The toebox does not curl any of my toes uncomfortably. I chose these over my other aggressive shoe the La Sportiva Miura V due to the better comfort in the toe box. The 2 velcro strap setup with a flexible band in the middle on the Vapors is easier than the 3 velcor straps on the Miuras. I'm not knocking the Miura's but the Vapors fit my foot better. I find this interesting since I have multiple La Sportiva climbing and hiking footwearl. The only complaint I have is the back of the shoe slightly rubs my achilles but this is solved with socks and is part of the break in period. I have the same achilles rub with all new climbing shoes. I give the Vapor V's the thumbs up and *****

    A great all-around performer.

The Vapor V has been my go-to all-arounder for single pitch climbing and bouldering. The opposing Velcro straps allow for quick adjustment and a great level of performance close to a lace up shoe.

Excellent all around sport climbing shoe

The Vapor V has long been my favourite sport climbing shoe. The stiff slipper construction is great for the vertical and slightly overhanging limestone of the Bow Valley, Alberta, where I do most of my climbing. It strikes the right balance of support and sensitivity for small edges and the occasional pure smear. Another big reason why the Vapor V is my go-to shoe is the comfort. Even with a tight fit (1.5-2 Euro sizes down from my approach shoe size), they're surprisingly comfortable, with no painful pressure points. This also makes them a great hard multipitch shoe, where you need performance but also want comfort. One downside of this comfort is that the relaxed slingshot rand results in a slightly baggy heel - fine for general heel hooking but not ideal for precise or aggressive heel action. As such, the Vapor V is more of a route climbing than bouldering shoe.

The construction is solid, meaning that for those of us who resole their shoes, the Vapor V holds up well to a couple of resoles without losing its performance fit. Once the fit isn't precise enough for hard sport climbing, they make a decent gym climbing shoe, where you're often smearing on volumes rather than edging.

All in all, if you're looking for a high performance but comfortable sport climbing shoe, the Vapor V is a great choice.

Ive owned over 5 pairs of this shoe...for a reason

I continually have this shoe in my shoe line up. If I had to pick just one shoe this would the one. It climbs in most styles well and is quite comfortable. Size down or up depending on your intended use.

Great shoes, Felt good and broke in quick

Felt good after a few routes and was happy about the rubber and the general feel of the shoe. Would recommend for someone looking for a moderately aggressive shoe for getting into more aggressive shoes, solid aggressive all day shoes.
